"Sho-In" - Hidden by LaughterThe Sho-in Dojo is a private club in Crystal Lake, IL headed by Sensei Sam Hersee, dedicated to studying the martial arts of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, which incorporates the Japanese combat arts of the Samurai and Ninja. Traditional martial arts are taught with an emphasis on realistic application for the defense of yourself and those around you. Classes are set up as small group training sessions with the students' needs in mind. The Sho-In Dojo is located in Crystal Lake off Randall road, and is easily accessible to the greater McHenry County area, as well as the surrounding areas of Dekalb County, Kane County and far west Cook County. This dojo is a satellite to the Shorisha Dojo of Elgin, IL headed by Shidoshi Vic Siedleski (www.shorisha.com).
What is TaughtThe style taught is Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, as headed by Grandmaster Hatsumi Masaaki of Noda, Japan. The Bujinkan incorporates several traditional Japanese schools of combat, taught collectively as Budo Taijutsu. Budo Taijutsu utilizes natural and relaxed movements that exploit an opponents weaknesses in order to prevail. News1/26/2012 Here's welcoming Sara to the dojo! A list of upcoming seminars is in the works, so stay tuned for that as well! 9/19/2011 Be advised... The time of Sunday's class is now officially 10:30am!!! Training will be at Vic's on Thursday, 9/22 Here's welcoming Will to the group! We will probably do a Tameshigiri session in October at Vic's dojo, so we need to estimate the size of our mat order. Details to follow. 8/22/2011 Firstly, a belated congratulations to Glenn on his 9th kyu way back in June, and to Joe on his 9th as well!
